They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
Consider us flattered.
When ThumbPRO® launched six years ago, we set out to build a baseball thumb guard our own way: engineered from scratch, patented, made from specialized high-performance silicone, and completely Made in the USA.
Today, there are plenty of thumb guards on the market. Some may look familiar. But a similar shape or marketing claim cannot recreate the engineering, patented design, materials, sizing, manufacturing, and years of use that built ThumbPRO®.
From young hitters learning the game to players competing on baseball’s biggest stage, ThumbPRO® was created with one purpose:
Protect the hand and let the hitter swing with confidence.
Born From a Real Problem, Solved by a Real Engineer
ThumbPRO® wasn't cooked up in a marketing meeting. It started with a problem every hitter knows all too well: bat sting.
That painful vibration when you get jammed or catch one off the end—the kind that can make your hand buzz for two innings and make young hitters lose confidence at the plate.
Craig First, a world-class engineer, decided to solve it the way engineers do: by understanding the physics behind it.
When a bat meets a ball, the impact sends vibration straight through the knob and into the top-hand thumb. Some players may instinctively try to compensate by choking the bat in a death grip, which can kill bat speed and make the sting worse.
Craig's answer was an ergonomically designed, contoured guard that sits between your thumb and the knob, absorbing impact at the exact point of contact while letting your hands stay loose and quick.
ThumbPRO® is also the only thumb guard on the market that stays locked in place thanks to its patented saddle-shaped design, allowing for completely distraction-free hitting.

High-Performance Silicone. Made in the USA.
Every ThumbPRO® is made from specialized high-performance silicone—a material chosen for how it behaves wherever the game is played.
It stays flexible and absorbent on a 40-degree April morning. It stays steady in July heat and humidity. And it holds up through a full season of cage work, doubleheaders, and everything in between.
And every single one is Made in the USA.
Designed here. Manufactured here. Quality-checked here in Massachusetts by the same family that founded the company.
No mystery materials. No overseas production line stamping out knockoffs. When you put on a ThumbPRO®, you know exactly what you're getting.
Unlike other thumb guards, ThumbPRO® is ambidextrous, allowing it to comfortably fit left-handed and right-handed hitters. It works with or without batting gloves, comes in three sizes and twelve colors, and performs just as well for fastpitch and slowpitch softball players as it does on the baseball diamond.
One design. Every hitter. Every level of the game.

The Pros Don't Wear Marketing Gimmicks
Anyone can put "pro-grade" on a package.
But here’s what’s actually happened: ThumbPRO® has been worn by MLB players in three straight World Series—three championships in three years, at the highest level of the game.
The athletes aren’t paid to wear it. They use the best products on the market to maintain their high level of play.
ThumbPRO® also won the 2020 ABCA Best of Show Award, chosen by the people who know the game best: parents and coaches.
And it's backed by 1,000+ five-star reviews with a 4.9-star average overall, from big leaguers, college hitters, high school players, and the parents of eight-year-olds who finally stopped feeling the sting and started swinging free.
That's not a claim. That's a real track record.
And track records take years to build, which is why ThumbPRO® remains among the most trusted pieces of equipment among athletes at every level of play.
One Size Does Not Fit Every Hitter
Everyone would agree that a young baseball player and a professional hitter do not have the same hands.
That is why ThumbPRO® comes in Small, Medium, and Large.
Fit is part of performance.
A baseball thumb guard should feel secure, stay positioned during the swing, and work naturally with the player’s hand and grip. Asking every hitter to use the same size does not account for the enormous differences between youth players, teenagers, adults, and professional athletes.
ThumbPRO® gives hitters the ability to choose a size that better fits them.
For younger and smaller players, that means having a Small option rather than simply adapting to a one-size-fits-all guard. For larger hitters, Medium and Large provide additional options as the player grows.

Why We're Not Mad About It
We have real respect for the companies that have spent years working to protect hitters.
More players guarding their hands means more kids staying confident at the plate and fewer bad habits born from the fear of getting jammed. That's good for the game, and we do this for the love of the game.
Our issue has never been with competition.
It's with shortcuts: products that attempt to copy a look without doing the work, and marketing that conflates bold claims with an actual track record.
But when it's your hands—or your kid's hands—between the bat and a fastball, "close enough to the real thing" shouldn't be the standard.
A competitor can have a similar shape or make bold claims. It can't match the patent, the world-class engineering, the reviews, or the World Series track record, because those weren't molded.
They were earned.
The Original. Still the One.
Six years in, our promise hasn't changed:
Eliminate the sting. Protect the hands. Free up the swing.
Everything else—the awards, the pros, the reviews—followed from getting that promise right.
There are other thumb guards out there.
There is only one ThumbPRO®.
